Learning through play

Today we spent a big portion on the day learning new skills by exploring play based activities in our class.

We learned to:

  • communicate our needs to our friends - by sharing equipment
  • develop our fine motor skills by using play dough in a creative way.
  • develop our hand eye coordination  - by doing marble painting
  • add numbers together by throwing balls in numbered hoops
  • make sense of direction and continue patterns by playing tick tac toe
  • read in our head in the teepee
  • create a christmas tree by looking at proportion

On Thursday 9 September Room 4 had a trip to MOTAT. We had lots of fun exploring all the gadgets it had to offer.  During the last term we have been exploring Science and the different states of matter.  We have been learning about liquids, solid's and gasses.

A very big thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came with us to MOTAT. Without your support this trip would not have been possible.

We explored things only Grandma's remember

The children found these:

Yes and they loved the games and the 3 D printer.
